Originally "Atom-Eater" was an idea for a "Radioactive Waste Cleaning Robot" that got its body/head shape inspired by an anteater animal that is capable of accessing "hard-to-reach" places using its elongated head and long tongue. Later I decided to just leave it at state of "an open platform" where depending on a specific task that needs to be done, this robot could be equipped with a hardware required for a certain kind of job.
Using ULTRABORG 3D KitBash Parts assigned to IMM brushes in ZBrush ( link: http://www.vitalybulgarov.com/3d-kitbash/ ) I wanted to create a fun robot design that uses a more organic shape flow and is actuated by synthetic muscles.
I also had fun recording 3D modelling/design process. The timelapse video is available on Youtube: http://youtu.be/Yi6Rg4RaIR4
Cheers!
